Recently I've been looking for a glaze that is matte white with speckles that look similar to dirt. Mackenzie white does the sort of speckling I want, but since I have a cone 6 clay body I have to figure out how to get those kind of speckles in a cone 6 glaze. I've searched everywhere for recipes and haven't quite found exactly what I'm looking for. However, I did do a test of a white glaze and did a line blend of rutile granular. The 7th or 8th tile, possibly the 11th had something really similar to what I've been wanting. The speckles are definitely smaller than I want, but the glaze did create an interesting surface that I think would look good on my vases and planters.
